Tanner says.....

This kid's vocabulary is increasing everyday and it never ceases to amaze me what he knows. The other day he was playing with his Grammie and she asked if he was tired and needed to take a little rest. He said,"Not right now,Grammie, I'm busy. Maybe later when the sun goes down." What a kid. He also told me that M&M's are good for dinner, I shouldn't be the boss,he wants to live at his friend Alyvia's house because she is sooo nice, and that we should follow the prophet so we don't go astray. Well at least he grasping on to some good things.

Happy 2010!

I am always excited for this time of year! I have decided to make an effort to update my blog more frequently than last year. I know I can do it! I just like looking at everyone else's blog and reading about their cool lives and usually can't find anything to write about in my boring life. But I am going to make an effort. I just want to tell y'all how grateful I am to have good friends and family. I am one lucky girl. I wish you all the best in this brand new decade. Wish me luck on my blogging skills!

Brother and Sister!

Tanner and Aydree are good buddies which makes me happy. Tanner is about the only one who makes Aydree really really laugh. It is so funny. Whenever we get ready to go anywhere Tanner always says "Can Aydree come with us?" He always wants to hold her and he loves helping mamma and daddy with her. I am sure glad they are friends and I hope they stay that way.

An Update! Some Pics! It's a miracle!

I don't know how many of you actually read my blog, but yes we are still alive in the Bateman household. We have had a fantastic summer and we did lots of fun things. Aydree is growing and growing and drooling and drooling. She has discovered her toes and her voice. She is just the cutest thing ever as you can see in these pics! Tanner is Potty trained! Thank goodness for lightning mcqueen and mater underwear! Isaac has started school and I am getting my supporting degree working at the hospital still. I will write more with more pics to come!

Special Day

I am sorry this has taken forever to post, but our computer was being weird and I was seriously going through withdrawls. On May 3 was Isaac's birthday and we got to bless Aydree. She was blessed in my sister Erika's dress, and an orange bow made by her Gramie to keep up the orange tradition.(For those who don't know, we have a weird orange tradition I will explain later). She looked like a little angel. Isaac gave her a beautiful blessing and she was lucky enough to have all of her uncles but one and both her grandpas and one great grandpa in the circle. What an amazing and beautiful experience. We had a lot of good friends there to support us too. It was a very special day, one I won't forget. I am so grateful for so many things in my life and that day was definitely one of them.

Dr. Wasserstrom Day

I was going through some pictures and I found these funny ones. I work with a Doc who really doesn't have a personality and is a little difficult to get along with, so Patty, who is in the first pic with me decided to have Dr. Wasserstrom day. We all dressed in scrubs and wore glasses on the end of our noses. I even spray painted my hair gray. He didn't have any idea what we were doing until he asked what we were doing. I said very cheerfully, "Happy Dr. Wassestrom day!" He actually laughed! It was an amazing experience to hear this dude laugh! He NEVER does! It just goes to show how people can change for the better, you just have to create experiences and opportunities for them to do so. I work with a bunch of good people who make my work life a whole lot better. I am lucky to have a good job where we can find humor and have fun. Oh, by the way, I won the contest of who looks like Dr. Wasserstrom the most, I don't know if that's good or not.

The Napping House

Tanner likes this book called the Napping house, which now that are schedules are skewed slightly because of a new baby, I feel like we have become the napping house. The only one not sleeping is momma! What is that about? Tanner's sleeping habits are pretty funny. He will do whatever is possible to NOT fall asleep when he has to. He will fall asleep after sheer exhaustion of trying to stay awake for 3 hours or more. When he does fall asleep, it is in strange positions that seem very uncomfortable to me. Sometimes to get him to fall asleep I lay with him in the very small car bed. I end up falling asleep and Tanner is playing. I wake up eventually because one side of my body is asleep or an arm is purple from lack of circulation. How can a kid who runs and runs and runs all day not EVER be tired? Why does he like the book called the Napping House if napping is not one of his favorite activities? These are some of life's great mysteries for sure.

Our Baby girl is here!!

Wow! I know I haven't posted for a while but I have a good excuse! Our sweet baby girl Aydree Marie Bateman was born on March 24,2009 at 3:30pm. She weighed 8lbs 4oz and was 20 inches long. She wasn't due until today actually, but the Dr. said if she would have gone full term, she would have been really big. She has dark brown hair and she resembles her big brother. It is such an amazing experience to have a baby even though it hurts a lot. Both grandmas were there which made it more special, they were both bawling when she was born. Isaac is a proud papa and he was a good support to me during the whole thing. He is an amazing father and husband, I couldn't ask for better. I am so grateful for the priesthood,Isaac gave me a blessing and even though I was scared, I knew everything would be ok. I am grateful for a good doctor and nurses who knew what they were doing. Aydree had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck a couple of times but they knew how to take care of her and me so everything would turn out. We are so glad she is here, her spirit is strong and makes our home better. I am still in my PJs, so I will post more later. pictures to follow soon!

Round and Rounder

My mom convinced me to get a picture of me while I am pregnant and Isaac says our daughter needs to see how big her mom got with her. So, here I am at 37 weeks! Wow! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone, probably because I am chasing after Tanner all the time. I am excited to have a little girl! My very talented mother in law made this super cute quilt for me and I had to show it off! My friend Heather made me one also and that picture will come soon! Isaac and Tanner were holding Tanner's cousin baby Jordan and I thought it was so cute, so they got their picture taken too! The countdown is on until our baby with no name yet gets here!

Winter blues

We were trying to find a way to beat the winter blues. There isn't any snow here and it's no fun to play in the frozen mud. So we went to this place called Hop 2 it. It's a big warehouse full of jumping bouncy houses. Some of the Bateman family came with us and we had a great time. It was fun even for a big pregnant lady. I just had to be sure that I wasn't jumping too much! Maybe I will go there again about due date time! Only 2 more months to go! I am really excited to have a girl. I am unsure about having 2 kids, because I feel like I can't handle one sometimes, but I know it will be great! Having kids makes life worthwhile for sure. If you have any ideas about how to shed the winter blues, let us know before we go crazy! Tanner and I have watched Dora the explorer one too many times. She can't even match her clothes. What's the deal?

THE cutest kid

I don't want to be one of those weird moms that think only their kid is the cutest, but this story is pretty awesome. Isaac and I always try to ask how Tanner's day was at Tamie's house, and sometimes through a mouthful of pretzels he tells us a little. He was telling us the other day about how he sang songs at Tamie's house. He said "Jesus was born!" "Bethlehem!" (it sounded like bittheham)"Asweep!" "Appy Kistmas!" He was really excited to tell us this and it melted my heart. He is only 2 and he already understands the meaning of Kistmas! Another Tannerism, the other day we were leaving church and we are lucky enough to go to the one by the temple. I was pulling out of the parking lot and Tanner says"Bye Jesus! Bye Mowoni! later dudes!" I was laughing so hard I could hardly drive. I hope Jesus was ok with this. It was so innocent and cute. I have to write these things down in order to remind myself how cute he really is when my house is destroyed or he is having a 2 year old meltdown. It's hard being a mom sometimes, but totally worth these little moments.

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

My friend Heather is a huge Twilight fan! I love those books too, even though they are a little cheezy, but a great way to escape! I love vampires! Sometimes I pretend that Isaac is one! (He doesn't know that). I am like Esme, but I think I have hair like Alice! Happy Halloween!

Slacker!!

Sometimes I let things slack a little in my life. Obviously I put my blog in my slack pile. It's in there along with a huge load of laundry and perhaps some ironing I need to do. I think that I spend a lot of time on a computer at work and in my online classes so the time needed to blog gets pushed back. I love reading all of your blogs and hear about what's going on in everyone's lives, it's so good and so much more interesting than my life. I just wanted to say I am so thankful for all of my good friends and family. You are all what makes life worth living! Thank you for all you do for me, you enrich and bless my life in tremendous ways. Life is good here at the Bateman house, we are busy and Tanner rules our lives. It's good! I have made a goal to not be a blogging slacker so much anymore so there are more updates to come! I promise! Thanks for being patient with me!

Fair Time

I hate the fair because it means the end of summer, but I love the fair because it is fun especially through the eyes of a two year old! Tanner had fun riding a few rides and feeding the animals! He even got to help milk a cow! We had a great time eating, walking, eating, walking and eating some more. Seeing things through the eyes of a child makes things a little easier to handle and life is a bit more fun! Everything is exciting! One of Tanner's sayings is "Look at the big truck! or Look at the animals, or Look at....whatever is in eyesight. It's so great. I now have to go work out because of all the food I ate. I am going to look like that giant pig if I don't stop.

Binki love and a Black eye

Poor little guy! Tanner fell down while going up the slide stairs and cut himself right above his eye. We went to the hospital and I asked one of the radiologists that I work for if he needed stiches or not. He sent us down to the ER and the doc was so nice and just glued his cut instead of giving him stiches. Tanner didn't even cry. I am grateful for the little perks of working at the hospital. It was a painless experience unlike usual ER visits. Tanner is a tough little guy and totally a boy. I am sure this is not the first time we will have an experience like this. Oh, and by the way, if you couldn't tell from these pics, Tanner loves his binki. I think he would sell his soul for it. We only let him have it at night, but he sometimes asks for it and we just have to endure the screaming. The joys of being two!

More family togetherness

Just some more fun pics of the bateman family reunion! Good times!

Funny Tanner

Tanner is one funny kid! While we were playing water balloon volleyball with Isaac's fam, Tanner found the balloons and started squeezing them until they broke all over him! He was cracking himself up and laughing so hard. It was the best! I love the sound of him laughing it makes me happy. Being a mother is hard sometimes but totally worth it. We love our little guy!
