Tanner says.....

This kid's vocabulary is increasing everyday and it never ceases to amaze me what he knows. The other day he was playing with his Grammie and she asked if he was tired and needed to take a little rest. He said,"Not right now,Grammie, I'm busy. Maybe later when the sun goes down." What a kid. He also told me that M&M's are good for dinner, I shouldn't be the boss,he wants to live at his friend Alyvia's house because she is sooo nice, and that we should follow the prophet so we don't go astray. Well at least he grasping on to some good things.

Happy 2010!

I am always excited for this time of year! I have decided to make an effort to update my blog more frequently than last year. I know I can do it! I just like looking at everyone else's blog and reading about their cool lives and usually can't find anything to write about in my boring life. But I am going to make an effort. I just want to tell y'all how grateful I am to have good friends and family. I am one lucky girl. I wish you all the best in this brand new decade. Wish me luck on my blogging skills!

Brother and Sister!

Tanner and Aydree are good buddies which makes me happy. Tanner is about the only one who makes Aydree really really laugh. It is so funny. Whenever we get ready to go anywhere Tanner always says "Can Aydree come with us?" He always wants to hold her and he loves helping mamma and daddy with her. I am sure glad they are friends and I hope they stay that way.

An Update! Some Pics! It's a miracle!

I don't know how many of you actually read my blog, but yes we are still alive in the Bateman household. We have had a fantastic summer and we did lots of fun things. Aydree is growing and growing and drooling and drooling. She has discovered her toes and her voice. She is just the cutest thing ever as you can see in these pics! Tanner is Potty trained! Thank goodness for lightning mcqueen and mater underwear! Isaac has started school and I am getting my supporting degree working at the hospital still. I will write more with more pics to come!

Special Day

I am sorry this has taken forever to post, but our computer was being weird and I was seriously going through withdrawls. On May 3 was Isaac's birthday and we got to bless Aydree. She was blessed in my sister Erika's dress, and an orange bow made by her Gramie to keep up the orange tradition.(For those who don't know, we have a weird orange tradition I will explain later). She looked like a little angel. Isaac gave her a beautiful blessing and she was lucky enough to have all of her uncles but one and both her grandpas and one great grandpa in the circle. What an amazing and beautiful experience. We had a lot of good friends there to support us too. It was a very special day, one I won't forget. I am so grateful for so many things in my life and that day was definitely one of them.

Dr. Wasserstrom Day

I was going through some pictures and I found these funny ones. I work with a Doc who really doesn't have a personality and is a little difficult to get along with, so Patty, who is in the first pic with me decided to have Dr. Wasserstrom day. We all dressed in scrubs and wore glasses on the end of our noses. I even spray painted my hair gray. He didn't have any idea what we were doing until he asked what we were doing. I said very cheerfully, "Happy Dr. Wassestrom day!" He actually laughed! It was an amazing experience to hear this dude laugh! He NEVER does! It just goes to show how people can change for the better, you just have to create experiences and opportunities for them to do so. I work with a bunch of good people who make my work life a whole lot better. I am lucky to have a good job where we can find humor and have fun. Oh, by the way, I won the contest of who looks like Dr. Wasserstrom the most, I don't know if that's good or not.

The Napping House

Tanner likes this book called the Napping house, which now that are schedules are skewed slightly because of a new baby, I feel like we have become the napping house. The only one not sleeping is momma! What is that about? Tanner's sleeping habits are pretty funny. He will do whatever is possible to NOT fall asleep when he has to. He will fall asleep after sheer exhaustion of trying to stay awake for 3 hours or more. When he does fall asleep, it is in strange positions that seem very uncomfortable to me. Sometimes to get him to fall asleep I lay with him in the very small car bed. I end up falling asleep and Tanner is playing. I wake up eventually because one side of my body is asleep or an arm is purple from lack of circulation. How can a kid who runs and runs and runs all day not EVER be tired? Why does he like the book called the Napping House if napping is not one of his favorite activities? These are some of life's great mysteries for sure.
