Dr. Wasserstrom Day

I was going through some pictures and I found these funny ones. I work with a Doc who really doesn't have a personality and is a little difficult to get along with, so Patty, who is in the first pic with me decided to have Dr. Wasserstrom day. We all dressed in scrubs and wore glasses on the end of our noses. I even spray painted my hair gray. He didn't have any idea what we were doing until he asked what we were doing. I said very cheerfully, "Happy Dr. Wassestrom day!" He actually laughed! It was an amazing experience to hear this dude laugh! He NEVER does! It just goes to show how people can change for the better, you just have to create experiences and opportunities for them to do so. I work with a bunch of good people who make my work life a whole lot better. I am lucky to have a good job where we can find humor and have fun. Oh, by the way, I won the contest of who looks like Dr. Wasserstrom the most, I don't know if that's good or not.

The Napping House

Tanner likes this book called the Napping house, which now that are schedules are skewed slightly because of a new baby, I feel like we have become the napping house. The only one not sleeping is momma! What is that about? Tanner's sleeping habits are pretty funny. He will do whatever is possible to NOT fall asleep when he has to. He will fall asleep after sheer exhaustion of trying to stay awake for 3 hours or more. When he does fall asleep, it is in strange positions that seem very uncomfortable to me. Sometimes to get him to fall asleep I lay with him in the very small car bed. I end up falling asleep and Tanner is playing. I wake up eventually because one side of my body is asleep or an arm is purple from lack of circulation. How can a kid who runs and runs and runs all day not EVER be tired? Why does he like the book called the Napping House if napping is not one of his favorite activities? These are some of life's great mysteries for sure.

Our Baby girl is here!!

Wow! I know I haven't posted for a while but I have a good excuse! Our sweet baby girl Aydree Marie Bateman was born on March 24,2009 at 3:30pm. She weighed 8lbs 4oz and was 20 inches long. She wasn't due until today actually, but the Dr. said if she would have gone full term, she would have been really big. She has dark brown hair and she resembles her big brother. It is such an amazing experience to have a baby even though it hurts a lot. Both grandmas were there which made it more special, they were both bawling when she was born. Isaac is a proud papa and he was a good support to me during the whole thing. He is an amazing father and husband, I couldn't ask for better. I am so grateful for the priesthood,Isaac gave me a blessing and even though I was scared, I knew everything would be ok. I am grateful for a good doctor and nurses who knew what they were doing. Aydree had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck a couple of times but they knew how to take care of her and me so everything would turn out. We are so glad she is here, her spirit is strong and makes our home better. I am still in my PJs, so I will post more later. pictures to follow soon!
